About the role
- You will be a fundamental part of our Solutions Team, focusing on the resolution of complex technical issues escalated from our Support Team
- You will work alongside colleagues in the Solutions Team to assist with the successful delivery of projects for our clients
- The role will involve a mix of office and home-based working, in addition to occasional onsite client activity
Computer Geeks is market-leading with its innovative Geeks Protect, Geeks Cloud and Geeks Voice solutions and specialises in modernising the IT experience of SMEs.
Key Tasks
- Provide 3rd Line support to Computer Geeks’ clients, including key stakeholders (VIPs. Directors & IT Managers)
- Take ownership of problems through to resolution
- Liaise with the Support Team to provide technical assistance and advice
- Assist with client onboardings
- Act as resource to assist with project delivery

Previous experience
The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate success in the autonomous resolution of complex tickets at a 3rd Line level. Examples include:
- User assistance with Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace deployments (Email, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Azure AD, Microsoft Teams, Security)
- Maintaining & troubleshooting typical Windows server roles (Active Directory, Hyper-V, DHCP, DNS, DFSR, SQL)
- Maintaining & troubleshooting Backup/Replication environments
- Maintaining & troubleshooting (L2/L3) network infrastructure
- Windows client OS rollouts and upgrades
Technologies supported
Client Operating Systems: Supported Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Mac OSX, Linux clients (occassionally).
Server Operating Systems: Windows 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, Hyper-V Server & Windows Server Core
Cloud technologies: M365 (Azure AD, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, Teams Calling) required, Azure SaaS and some knowledge of IaaS desirable
Servers: Active Directory + other Microsoft stack products, Azure AD Connect, SQL, IIS
Security: Cyber Essentials
Virtualisation: Hyper-V
Software: Microsoft SQL Server, Altaro Hyper-V Backup, Veeam, MS Office (2016+), Adobe Creative Suite, Sage Accounts 50/200/variants
Networking & Hardware: WatchGuard, Draytek, Managed L2/L3 Switches, HPE Servers, Wired & WiFi networks, UPS + server peripherals of any kind
Domains: Domain names, SSLs, DNS + nameservers
Connectivity: Leased lines + ethernet, FTTC/ SoGEA/FTTP.
Required:
4+ years experience in IT Support
Experience resolving issues at a 3rd Line level
Microsoft Certification at Fundamental level
Desired:
Microsoft 365 Role-based certification (Associate or Expert)
Degree from University in an IT field (2:2 and above)
