Project Delivery Engineer

Focus: Cloud Implementation Specialist / Windows Server & Networks Specialist

 

Job Description

  • Demonstrate experience of delivering technical projects (B2B) – MSP experience highly desirable
  • Ability to communicate to clients at all levels and to articulate to non-technical personnel
  • Deliver billable project days remaining in control of the budget and project end date(s)
  • Implement new systems whilst avoiding unexpected downtime
  • Act as project lead on projects
  • Help clients with change-management activities
  • Design, test, install and monitor new systems under the scope of project responsibilities
  • Prepare documentation and present progress reports to customers and internal resource
  • Organise training for users and other colleagues
  • Provide 3rd line support
  • Work with technical sales and support, and where appropriate, maintain contact with client organisations

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate success in previously delivering many of the following projects. The candidate will have acted single-handedly or been a key delivery engineer, on:

  • Microsoft 365 deployments (including migration of data from other on-premises or cloud systems, Email, Microsoft Licensing, SharePoint, OneDrive, Modern Workplace, Intune, Azure AD, Teams, Security)
  • Telephony rollouts (Microsoft Teams calling) – number porting, setting up call flows, IVRs, Hunt groups & consulting with clients on design
  • Storage and virtualization projects in Hyper V Windows Server-based domain network rollouts (including workgroup-to-domain rollouts, from scratch, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and SQL)
  • Windows client OS rollouts and upgrades
  • An understanding and appreciation of Project delivery SLAs, as well as some grounding in ITIL, Prince2 or another Project Management standard is desirable.

Key Skills

  • 10+ years experience in IT Services, including some an MSP
  • A highly-motivated individual who loves being part of a team and learning new skills 
  • Excellent communication & confidence 
  • Typing speed of >60 WPM with excellent spelling and grammar 
  • The ability to offer innovative solutions to problems 
  • The ability to offer strategic recommendations to clients 
  • Drive to deliver a human customer experience 
  • Enjoys seeing a designed solution be delivered from start to finish and the customer happy at the end!

Desired Qualities

  • Experience working in an MSP
  • Full UK driving license and car
  • Evidence of a pursuit for higher learning, for example certifications in:
    • Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP
    • Vendor recognised qualifications
    • Undergraduate degree
