About the role
- You will be a pivotal part of our Solutions Team, focused on delivering the full lifecycle of IT projects from handover to completion, including project & stakeholder management.
- You will also provide 3rd-line support to our clients and offer technical advice in consultancy services when needed
- The role will involve a mix of office and home-based working, in addition to onsite client activity and will require some flexibility in location and hours to deliver projects successfully.
- Computer Geeks is market-leading with its innovative Geeks Protect, Geeks Cloud and Geeks Voice solutions and specialises in modernising the IT experience of SMEs.
Key Tasks
- Deliver technical projects (B2B)
- Communicate at all levels and articulate to non-technical personnel
- Deliver billable project days remaining in control of the budget and project end date(s)
- Implement new systems whilst managing disruption and downtime
- Act as project lead on projects
- Help clients with change-management activities
- Design, test, install and monitor new systems under the scope of project responsibilities
- Prepare documentation and present progress reports to customers and internal resource
- Organise training for users and other colleagues
- Provide 3rd line support, during Project > BAU handover.

Required
3 years 3rd line or project delivery work experience, and:
- At least one of the following:
- Degree from University in an IT field (2:2 and above)
- Microsoft Certification in Windows Server (MCSA)
- Role-Based Microsoft Certification at Expert Level
Previous experience
The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate success in previously delivering many of the following projects. The candidate will have acted single-handedly or been a key delivery engineer, on:
- Microsoft 365 deployments (including migration of data from other on-premises or cloud systems, Email, Microsoft Licensing, SharePoint, OneDrive, Modern Workplace, Intune, Azure AD, Teams, Security)
- Telephony rollouts (Microsoft Teams calling) – number porting, setting up call flows, IVRs, Hunt groups & consulting with clients on design
- Storage and virtualization projects in Hyper V Windows Server-based domain network rollouts (including workgroup-to-domain rollouts, from scratch, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, DFSR, Group Policy and SQL)
- Windows client OS rollouts and upgrades
An understanding and appreciation of Project delivery SLAs and a good grounding in ITIL, Prince2 or other Project Management standards are desirable.

Cloud technologies: M365 (Azure AD, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, Teams Calling) required, Azure SaaS and some knowledge of IaaS desirable
Servers: Active Directory + other Microsoft stack products, Azure AD Connect, SQL, IIS
Security: Cyber Essentials
Virtualisation: Hyper-V
Software: Microsoft SQL Server, Altaro Hyper-V Backup, Veeam, MS Office (2016+), Adobe Creative Suite, Sage Accounts 50/200/variants
Networking & Hardware: WatchGuard, Draytek, Managed L2/L3 Switches, HPE Servers, Wired & WiFi networks, UPS + server peripherals of any kind
Domains: Domain names, SSLs, DNS + nameservers
Connectivity: Leased lines + ethernet, FTTC/ SoGEA/FTTP. Experience in configuration and go-live of these solutions is required.
