Seasons Greetings from Computer Geeks

14.12.23

It’s been another successful year for us here at Computer Geeks. We’ve expanded our solutions and services offerings, launched our Cyber Security practice Geeks Cyber and powered up our team to better support you to unleash the potential of your business.

Let’s toast to the last 12 months as we look forward to what 2024 has in store!

It’s our 15th Birthday!

15 years ago, on December 15th 2008, Nick started Computer Geeks as a simple service, fixing PCs on-site, nowadays we’re a thriving team, working to help ambitious business owners all around the UK, who need a consistently great IT experience.

We launched our Cyber Security practice Geeks Cyber

We handled an emergency response to a cyber attack this year with one of our clients. We achieved a full recovery with no data lost and minimal downtime. We are pleased with this outcome, however it has renewed our focus on our mission.

In 2024, our mission is to continue updating and bolstering our cyber security offerings so that all our customers can feel secure knowing that they have robust and reliable cyber security solutions in place.

With the rise of cyber attacks targeting businesses of all sizes, our team have focused this year on crafting robust cyber security solutions that we can recommend and make available to our customers.

Geeks Cyber is our umbrella of cyber security solutions designed to combat the ever-evolving cyber threats that pose significant challenges to businesses worldwide.

Expanding our team

This year, we’ve welcomed a few new faces to our team, from our Support Engineer, Oli, to our Project Delivery Engineer, Kieran, our Business Development Representative, Lorenzo and our new Client Account Manager, Mark.

Powering up our team

Throughout the year, we have also been busy increasing the value of our team. We’ve not only grown in numbers, but we’ve also worked hard to gain further qualifications, meaning we can better serve you.

Our Technical Director, Rob, passed his certificate of competence in Cyber Essentials implementation, certifying that he has successfully exhibited the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to pass the Cyber Advisor (Cyber Essentials) assessment. In addition, Rob has passed his Watchguard exam with flying colours, meaning we will now become a Silver Partner with Watchguard.

Our ambition is to become an NCSC Assured Service Provider with Rob as a Cyber Advisor, watch this space!

Several team members passed Microsoft qualification, allowing us to become a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Modern Work. This included our Managing Director, Nick, who passed the expert exam in 365. This means that we have qualified for Gold for five years with Microsoft.

We continued to provide our friendly and professional support

We continued to receive and celebrate our CSAT reviews, from January until now, we’ve had over 1,190 reviews!

We really appreciate these reviews and we not only share them on our social media channels, but we also celebrate then amongst our team daily.

We rolled out EDR

Part of Geeks Cyber is Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR). We found this solution to be a vital part of business cyber security, so we’re proud to announce that EDR has now been rolled out to all client’s compatible devices for Geeks Protect and Geeks Cloud at no extra cost.

This allows for a more proactive and advanced approach to cyber security, with continuous monitoring of endpoint activities, such as file changes and system behaviour, to analyse data in real-time to identify suspicious activities as soon as possible. Our team receive any alerts and will take any necessary steps.

Thank you

From all of us at Computer Geeks, we’d like to wish you a happy holidays and a wonderful new year!
