What is Cyber Essentials and why should I get it?

What’s the difference between Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus?
There are two levels of certification:
Cyber Essentials
Cyber Essentials gives you protection against a wide range of the most common cyber attacks. It provides a simple way to learn about and address cyber threats, and lessens your vulnerability to basic attacks that can make you a target for cyber criminals. IT policies are also written and provided for the client.
This certification gives you and your customers piece of mind that you are protected against a lot of common cyber attacks.
Cyber Essentials Plus
Cyber Essentials Plus goes a step further as a ‘hands-on technical verification’ is carried out.
Not only is your business put to the test against the self-assessment for the Cyber Essentials certification, but a third-party assessor also carries out an audit of your system to identify areas needing improvement, this can range from cyber-attack simulation to testing for two-factor authentication.
